History
Bando is a name for the traditional martial arts of Myanmar (Burma), including unarmed fighting, weapons (banshay) and the bare-knuckle boxing lethwei. Many styles imitate animals.
In the 20th century Dr. Maung Gyi brought a modern form, American Bando, to the United States from the 1960s.
