History

Bojutsu is the Japanese art of the long staff. The rokushakubo — a staff of six shaku, about 1.8 metres — is taught both in old samurai schools such as Katori Shinto-ryu and in Okinawan kobudo.

The staff is cheap, safe to train with and very versatile: it strikes, thrusts, sweeps and blocks with both ends.
