History
Goshin jutsu means "self-defence techniques" in Japanese and is the name used by many schools for practical defence against grabs, strikes and weapons, drawing on judo, jujutsu, aikido and karate.
The best-known form is the Kodokan Goshin Jutsu, a judo kata created at the Kodokan in 1956 with defences against unarmed attacks, a knife, a stick and a pistol.
