History
Hung Gar is one of the most famous southern Chinese kung fu styles, known for deep, strong stances and powerful hand techniques. Tradition links it to Hung Hei-gun and to the southern Shaolin temple.
In the 19th century Wong Kei-ying and his son Wong Fei-hung made it famous in Guangdong; later Lam Sai-wing wrote down its main forms in books in the 1920s.
