History
Vovinam (Việt Võ Đạo) was founded in Hanoi in 1938 by Nguyễn Lộc, who combined traditional Vietnamese martial arts with elements of other styles to strengthen the Vietnamese people.
It is famous for its spectacular leg techniques, including flying scissor takedowns. Vovinam is part of the Southeast Asian Games and is practised in dozens of countries.
