Compass crescent kick (meia-lua de compasso)
Names by art: Capoeira: Meia-lua de compasso / Rabo de arraia · Engolo: Okuminunina
Appears in 2 arts.
Biomechanics: what the body does
From a low position the fighter turns the back, places one or both hands on the ground and swings the straight leg round in a wide arc, hitting with the heel. The body ducks under the line of attack while the kick comes from behind, so evasion and attack happen in the same movement.
